It fell through my lips before I had the time to think about what I was doing.
I spent all night trying to hold it closed between my fingers.
But it fell through my hands. I couldn/'/t keep it.
The next day I brought my friends the promise, shattered into pieces.
My friends in return brought me their hearts, shattered into pieces.
They were counting on me to keep my promise.
I was counting on them to keep me from making one.
In the end, neither of us came through.
I had broken them, just as they had broken me. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 58 [topic] => 31 [informant] => milky [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )

Welcome to YPDC...

A position I never want to be in. Your word is all you really have in the end. A bad situation that you can never seem to shake. Great write!
