would you follow or sit back and watch
knowing full welll
that my heart forever beats for you
who still cares about you
and you alone
to think how foolish i was
to ever hope for another chance
for redemation
yet as my long awaited death comes
near
i honestly wonder
how did we ever get to this path
will i ever stop crying
would you rescue me from this fate
more importantly
do you still care about me
or even still love
i would join in death/'/s cold embrace
if it means we can be together
for all time
to give up my life
to sacrifice my goals and dreams
just to be at your side
that/'/s the chance
the risk that i am willing to take
why
because i know
living is not easy task
yet with you by my side
it felt easier yet challenging
before i part from you and this world
i look to you once more
and still await your answer

would you save me or let me be?

They say you can/'/t teach an old dog new tricks but maybe a kitten can learn :)
Sorry for some reason that hit me while I was reading your heartfelt poem....

Many times we have a second chance but we often find many ways to ruin it. That said sincerity goes a long way. I liked this poem and I think most of us have been there and many on both sides...

I/'/m not sure if I/'/ve ever loved anyone to the degree that i/'/d fill the void of death to be with them, but i like the way it/'/s written, i like your style

Living is not an easy task, yet with you by my side it felt easier yet challenging. That/'/s a profound, honest expression. I love poems with questions that are not answered. It leaves the reader to ever wonder, doesn/'/t it?
