you didn’t see me coming but you saw the dust I left behind.
The adventure you desire can be found at my side,
as long as you can withstand rushing current sweeping you away.
You better swim hard and keep your head above water,
because I won’t help you if you drown.
I’d rather leave you on the shoreline for the scavengers to find.
I’m on this road alone and I lost my warmth,
yet somehow I’ve still got fire. It’s just in my blood.

Open the earth beneath my steady feet; collapse a cave around me, you won’t be able to break me. I refuse
to let something like that define me.
I’ll let them all take their best shot, but mine will always be better.
I’ll be the one flying away at the end of the night.

Hey, if you have a bottle of sunshine, you’re welcome to come sit next to me.
Maybe we can stumble across something new. Something that we can share.
If you’re up to climbing a mountain, get ready.
Unless you can’t handle the avalanche.

I can swing through books and squeeze through letters,
I’ve been doing that my whole life.
But my energy is more than just a soul, it is life.
This life needs freedom to roam the depth of the sea and to breathe in the freshest mountain pine.
Life needs flames and ice; storms and clear skies...
I’m undefined as a whole — I just flow,
unrigid in design to experience and learn. I’ll never claim a full form, unlike the lava pressing at my feet.

I don’t much care where you came from or where you’re going.
Stay or go as you please, if you can keep up or if you could slow down. I’m not going to wait around for you, just as I won’t exhaust myself to keep up.
I don’t expect anything from you; do what makes your life worth it.
I’m not going to sugarcoat it for your sweet tooth.
I’m just riding the lahar. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 206 [topic] => 21 [informant] => The_Unknown [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Talk about "in your face" this is it. Sometimes
it/'/s better to be brutally honest than to set up expectations you can/'/t or won/'/t deliver.

This was an out of the norm poem and I like how it gathered steam at the end. Sort of like an Old kick A - AC/DC song. Great stuff!

James
