I'm so hungry I can't  sleep
I'm so tired I don't want to move
I'm so stiff I can't get up

I'm so frail I don't want to look
I'm so confused I don't want to think
I'm so hunched over I need to straighten up
I'm so unkept I look like a schmuck

I'm so angry I'm not in the mood
I'm so mute I've got a thousand things to say
I'm so surrounded I want to go home
I'm so lonely I don't know where to go

I'm so needy I need real help
I'm so ashamed I don't know what to say
I'm so nervous my mind has gone blank
I'm so lazy all I do is think

I clench my hands into fists

Do you sometimes feel like this?

much much much more than I'd like to admit, I do feel just like what you wrote.

And its easy too. And that's not in any way a good excuse!

That's a great question, and it makes for great poetry that's true. You have to question this, I do while I feel this way,
And I wish I could say, there's this point A, to this other
point B, this place I'd like to get to.

Thanks!
Peace!

Hi Fox.

I wrote a reply in a poem two above yours on the post. The comments (for some darn reason, which seems utterly random in nature) the full message got cut off, showing only "Fox's poem,". It SHOULD have shown, "Fox's poem tore into me and demanded I answer".

It's so real, I love it. The lines "I'm so needy I need real help
I'm so ashamed I don't know what to say" are gut ripping, and I feel this way still on occasion, and have felt this way many times in my life.

I appreciate the bare raw honesty more than I can convey here, but a most fitting analogy is found (oddly, so bear with me) in the movie 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade". Near the end, in the room full of the many chalices, only one is the true cup of Christ. It is a piece of common pottery in a collection of ornate (and therefore insincere, or false) chalices. Truth is found in simplicity, not in jewels and shininess. As the Crusader said to Indy (with one minor alteration), "You have written wisely".
