My heart woes
within my silence, I cannot speak
As silent as I may be
you shun me as dying and weak

My heart is fragile
from mourning the pain you give to me
I see through your facade
your own shame you cannot see

You visit me
you talk a million words
However it all means nothing
I’d rather listen to the birds

I thought you would honor me
until my very last breath of air
But I see your lack of responsibility
and it’s not so very fair

I was there for you
in so many times of need
I held your bandages when you were a child
I did not let you bleed

But here I lie
seemingly asleep to you all
Thinking of my past
wondering how could you let me fall

Yes I am slipping away
and the ones who should hold my hand are not here
I may not be able to talk
but I see you’re not so sincere

How could you starve me
being so positive I am ready to go
You have sadly mistaken me
it’s the last thing I want you to know

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
