seven, to be counted
one stands first for many days
on a wall is where it is mounted

dust to settle when one makes two
the second is just a reflection
the image of one who is not you
so seen as a blank expression

speak your words in the softest voice
yet claim out loud that two becomes three
sit alone in time with whatever the choice
just over there, right under that tree

the fourth will appear in shadowed form
it will lie next to you in the grass
when chased away by the incoming storm
seek your cover, for this too shall pass

the construction of five is born of four
five points to make a star's shape
the design painted there, it's there on the floor
when you peel away all the tape

the sixth event will be quite the showing
like that place where two oceans collide
just ride the currents to where they are going
hold on for this all mighty ride

that brings us to seven, the end of the promise
a land so far out of sight
high above the clouds, in a chamber of mist
you will see where the day becomes night

seven years, and seven ways
seven, to be counted
one stands first for many days
but seven will surely be counted... [comments] => 3 [counter] => 224 [topic] => 25 [informant] => hray42 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

If you could paint this in oils..it would be a masterpiece! So rich in color and texture; time and space; opposition and parallels; all with a common progression you lead us on the path to your destination!
Worth a second read to catch the subtle nuances, and layer on layer of hues.
Your gift is that you speak in rainbows.
