This year in New York
Irish activities have been cancelled due to snow and cold
Leprechauns are still hiding
having no snowshoes and the snow is too deep to search for gold

They remain hidden
performing their magical dance they do
Wishing for green clover
and a speedy melting of the snow too

If you look in your basement
and it’s warm, there they might hide
If you see one, don’t frighten him
you will hurt his Irish pride

When the snow fades away
and the green grass finally comes around
You will know a leprechaun made his magic
it’s their time to look for gold to be found

It is often said
where Leprechauns keep their gold
On the other side of rainbows
that is the story we all have been told

Wishing you all a happy Saint Patrick’s Day
in whatever part of the world you’re in
Watch out for the tricky little leprechauns
with their smirk of a smile and pointed chin

Happy Patty’s Day 2015
