How do you catch a Polar Bear,
Who lives up in his arctic lair?
I do not know, nor do I care.
Why would I want a Polar Bear?

This was the question asked of me,
The other day when I had tea:
By my host's son who's way past three,
And just as lively as can be.

I said, “I really do not know,
For Polar Bears live in the snow:
Up where the Arctic winds do blow,
Away up north you need to go.

Then if you grab a Polar Bear,
Your hands will just be full of hair,
But when you see his sharp teeth there,
You'll never grab another Bear.”

The young lad said, “That's not the way.
Now listen careful what I say.
You go out on the ice one day,
When all the Bears are gone away.

So carefully down on your knees,
You make a hole big as you please.
You then dump in a can of peas,
And quickly hide before they freeze.

When he comes up to take a pea,
You sneak up very carefully,
And then you yell, surprise it's me,
And kick him in the ice hole, See.”

Ah the joys of children. Fun imaginative ways to solve problems, dilemmas, and dreams.

Nice story and poem. Oh and because I have yet to have said it, welcome to ypdc. :)

I love your sense of humor. Kids seem to know the answer to all of life's problems... Good job.
