Token white whale,
Epic fail.
Insert cliché here-

A hostage of fear,
Victim of the mirror,
Condition severe.
The end is near-

A sacrificial lamb
Creature of the damned,
Equivalent of spam.
Bursting with nothingness-

A martyr who's blameless,
Hopelessly aimless,
Unpainted canvas.
An animated carcass.

Wow. The way you wrote this...with such a sharpness. So to the point and core of things. Very moving piece, Scorp.

The abruptness of the lines and the sharpness of the rhyme give this quite a bite. I've read it numerous times, and it actually makes me feel down. I guess the power and quality of the poem induce such feelings. Take the author's note, and do what you once, in good faith, advised me to do: 'cut yourself some slack.' x

"An animated carcass." Is that the political correct way of saying Zombie?

I read this a few times now and I just kept coming away with this sad feeling.

Definitely love yourself and don't beat yourself up. Writing poetry, however, is good therapy. Keep up the Scorpitude!

I normally don't like rhymes, just a thing peculiar to me, not you. But I must say this made me feel. As good poetry should.

Very crisp poem. Like ladyfawn I too can read something new into it and that is the beauty of it. It/'/s an open poem and it lets you decide the meaning of it.
Bravo!

James
