Fuel of fire burning from a hate's grief

Day by second the infernal roars unabated
Flames devour hope with hunger never sated

Cold hearts beating without reason or rhyme
Painted with smoke darker than Satan's grime

Souls treading on a path of selfish delusion
Leaving behind a wake of careless confusion

A child's hand reaches out with hope to grasp
Only to find empty air hidden in a blank mask

Still dreaming of that perfect moment when
Parental love embraces and true life will begin

Ignoring facts within the deadbeat's cold gaze
Longing for love's magic to replace hate's rage

Every tear that drops ignites the fire ruby red
Each hurt another charcoal upon the fire's bed

Just one way to quench the flames burning wild
Wake up; grow up; love and honor the child [comments] => 2 [counter] => 271 [topic] => 6 [informant] => dvtpdw [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )

Being familiar with your other great poems, I am pretty sure where this comes from and deadbeat hits the nail directly on the head. It is so sad that he has to go through that. I cannot even imagine. :( So sad.

At least your strength shines through with still being able to write so flawlessly. That is indeed impressive.
