A long hike,walking backwards
uncovering,rediscovering, hiding,seeking
inside soul, window peeking.
A woman, and a little girl
both are living the same trail
sometimes together,sometimes apart
searching the answers
that are hidden deep in the heart.

Now the journey gets serious,
mind clattering,heart shattering
joy, sorrow, present,past,tomorrow.
A slippery slope,a fast track,
a steep mountain climb
a surreal valley at times.

Wisdom says, we never really know someone.
A wise heart knows, at times we dont really know ourselves.
Truth, misguided, twists our perceptions
truth misguided, suddenly brings focus.
Truth, misguided causes turmoil
Truth, misguided, awakens us to rise
rise above the ash, the beautiful ashes.

Now I begin, now I walk in my shoes
the journey of a million miles,
a million tears, and a million smiles.
Now I walk............

Shelby, this is very well written. Coincidentally I just posited a rant on there being too many shoes,
It was just coincidental
But kind of weird.
Anyway, I think you have it right. Change is a milestone
toward introspection and well worth the journey as you suggest.

Peace!

May you stop once in a while
And let your heart and mind rest
To all of these people who love you
We walk with you even though you don't see us
