my time here's been cut short.
So listen very closely,
to some wisdom I import.

Get an education,
on no one should you rely.
To give you what you wish for,
the price can be too high.

Have an open heart,
true love it does await.
But don't believe that charm alone,
will make a great life mate.

Do not be afraid,
step outside the box.
Dream your dreams in colour,
hear opportunity knock.

When climbing up the ladder,
don't forget to thank the rungs.
For there may come a time in life,
When you need praises sung.

Hold tight to your convictions,
when haters try to sway.
You over to their dark side,
there comes a Judgement Day.

Love your children as they are,
even if they're not,
Exactly what you planned for,
trust in God's great plot.

But most of all my children,
believe me when I say...
Though my earthly body fails me,
my eternal love remains.

I like this a lot. Heart felt and well worded. The wisdom is conveyed beautifully and the advice is sound. The cost of good advice to our children come at the sacrifice of self.
