dark shadows mean wake up.
It may be just a Friday night
I not on the town,
maybe to old for that now?

Iv loved the moon beams
this past week
and late night swimming
beneath that full moon.

Ignore the city, for awhile
pretend I'm in my own little space
of nature, and star shine and moon beams
and night creature serenades
and I sigh softly.

Then the Metro noise
reaches out and slaps me
as I paddle pool water
stop and look around.
Yep not in my own space
its actually shared by many
and a stranger peers in the shadows
beneath the light shining
just watching me.

I take my midnight poetry moment
and sail back for home
walking across burning asphalt
shadows dancing, the city beating
the wind dances in the pines
but the world around me isn't quiet
and no it never belongs in private just to me.
Eyes peer in the night. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 151 [topic] => 43 [informant] => shelby [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
