Nothing will ever be the same
Now myself I must tame
Unless I wish to once again become a number and lose my name.

But the joke is on me
Cause that will never be
How can I make myself see
That my freedom is key.

It's hard to be good when I can be bad
To tell truths when I can tell lies
To do what is right when it's easier to do what is wrong
To love when I can hate
To live when I can just exist
To put pen to paper
When it's easier to
Put
Needle to vein
And blade to flesh. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 203 [topic] => 48 [informant] => shereal_14 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Your words carry such pain within your soul's sadness. Don't give up on today, as from yesterday we learn how to create tomorrow. So much honesty and self awareness in your write, so much promise too. P

I love the emotional nature of this poem - how it actually made me empathise with the speaker. The poem brilliantly portrayed a sense of inner struggle of someone finding it difficult (perhaps to find the energy, motivation or courage) to do what is right, despite deep down, knowing what has to be done. This poem for me, and probably for many others, very relatable - as I'm sure many people (including me) have gone through sometime a similar sense of not being able to find the courage and strength to do what is right.

You should stay on
this scar of the flesh
is not worth its hurt

There is you somewhere
to be one day found
And I know this is true

You capture with words
real truth
And I truly believe it
is only the beginning
for you

easier never is
the brutal truth

Your words are so hard
to read --- I don't just think

chemicals react
or they won't

I'd always pull for someone
like you

Peace!
