They usually make the hard decisions. (I am male) [bodytext] =>

“Wait a minute Baby,
I don't think my heart is ready...
I don't think that I can make it on my own.
I need you beside me
To hold me and to guide me...
Protect me from a world that is so cold.”

“I want to keep you safe, Baby,
You know I really do....
And when we got together we both promised to.
But I already have a kid
Now I'm lookin' for a man...
I love you so much Baby, but I hope you understand.” [comments] => 5 [counter] => 125 [topic] => 52 [informant] => invierno [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

ha! i knew it! behind every successful man is a woman telling
him what to do!
actually this poem is f a b u l o u s! so for your
collective ideals i must say what i thought reading it, ::i thought
the woman was the first speaking, then the man- until i got to the
forth line second stanza, then i knew i had reversed it:: -so when
you annalize me i will have to fall under the catagory of a woman
who has once been- and would again love to be cared for, but in
this world me and many women are not living as such,

hugs n' love nessa

I thought it was the man speaking first. I got that right. But I thought it was the man continuing to speak. Haha. I was wrong. This poem was great. It lightened my day because it was a little light humor. Great poem.

I think men are more intrinsically atuned to accept neediness in a woman, than vice versa. There is a protective gene in men and one to feel protected in women. So I'm not sure whether it's steely backbone or simply our natures.
One thing's for sure: when she says, I ain't gonna be your replacement mother, she means it.
Certainly got me thinking. A testimony to the draw-you-in power of your poem.

Agreed with all the comments above, and I would say that almost could be put into a song. Your writings are different, yet intriguing.
