For the benefit of one poet.
Who thinks they know't.
In my angry poetry.
I never mention names you see.
That's not my style.
And if you step back for a while.
You would see the reason why.
I don't want the person to cry.
Even though they maid me mad.
I don't want to see them sad.
Not even your name is mentioned.
Although I should put you in detention.
So climb back on your shelf.
And go think of yourself.
As people like you do.
As finally I say screw you.

I join others in the communal smirk. Detention is too kind, me thinks. But being ever the generous poet; you don't need gold stars to know your worth. And one wave does not an ocean make.
Your profound dismissal is both appropriate and an eloquent testimony to writers survival 101! Dust it!

Well said sir, and any who
what is poetry
any owl or elephant or even giraffe
; certainly a mountain lion raising up
her cubs in the tall wild grass
looking over her should
might growl
you know like
right is might
needs to be pointed out.
Thanks again RR.
Peace!

dear russell this made me laugh and smile:) we
used to have anon comments here and some of
mine were really quite mean but so funny- with
the right attitude it actually helps one finesse
writing, for as poets when we feel we express,
and you've done this sooo beautifully!

hugs n' love nessa

Aha! I have written a similar, dedicated piece in the past to said critics. I suppose we all have our moments:)

Keep writing for you.
