Array ( [sid] => 178169 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Deafening Silence (Sincerely Yours) [time] => 2014-04-17 11:41:47 [hometext] => Ten years ago today, a dear friend of mine committed suicide. He mentioned me in his letter, because I was the only person he had in his life who treated him with any respect. This is a song I wrote from his perspective the day I found out he was gone. [bodytext] => Deafening silence was screeching in my head. You found this letter that was closed tightly in my hands. I am so sorry, so please know it's not your fault. Hope you'll forgive me, goodbye I love you all...sincerely yours.

My eyes were dripping wet from all the nights I'd cried. I just could not forget, can't say I hadn't tried. My dad was hitting me, tell Mom it's not her fault. This way I'm finally free, I freed myself from it all...sincerely yours.

Do you wish I would've stayed? Well, it's too late, I am gone. I hope each day you'll pray that we go back and fix it all...I was just like you.

My time was running out because the pain was strong. Thought I figured it out, realized that I'd thought wrong. You were my only friend, and you were the one I loved. Sorry it had to end, one friend is not enough...sincerely yours.

Do you wish I would've stayed? Well, it's too late, I am gone. I hope each day you'll pray that we go back and fix it all. I wish there was a way you'd fix yourself before my fall. Well now it's too late, remember...it's always my fault...I was just like you.

Dearest Mom and Dad, so much I couldn't take. Dearest Mom and Dad, sorry I was a mistake. Dearest Mom and Dad, too bad your love was fake. Dearest Mom and Dad, I took my pain away...

The rope's around my neck, and the chair's beneath my feet. Now I'm a nervous wreck, but it's my time to leave. Well, I guess this is goodbye, I guess there's nothing left. Now I finally close my eyes, and I take my last breath...sincerely yours [comments] => 5 [counter] => 337 [topic] => 36 [informant] => ArloDisarray [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

First and foremost, I am incredibly sorry about the loss of your dear friend.
This is the reason I love to write and read others writing. It frees both you and the reader. It's true catharsis. Thanks for sharing.
Keep it up!

this is so sad and heart wrenching, i'm so sorry for your loss,
his pain is over now and it is you and those who loved him
that keep his memory alive in your hearts and here on this page,
it is the ones who loved people that have crossed over who live in
unknown territory,

big hugs n' love nessa

Writing helps us to close doors, and find meaning. You have defined so beautifully your anguish and deep sorrow. This was difficult to write. I hope it brings you some measure of acceptance--there may never be comfort.
Please keep writing and bringing your heart into your words..your gift here is comfort.. letting others know that they are not alone, no matter how deep their grief.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

It was a beautiful write. A former classmate of mine committed suicide & no one knows what's going on inside their heads. This was perfectly insightful.

Great write.
