I wonder if, or when, I'll make a mark
I seek what mankind has always craved
Salvation from what has me now enslaved

I seek for my life to be for once validated
As all man has since life was created
I want to know, before my time ends
I meant something to family and friends

I seek to find my own creative spark
Each venture entered seems to end a lark
Giving it my every breath and strength
It always proves what I clearly ain't

All I want is to be noticed I was here
To fade to obscurity my greatest fear
What will it take to make my stance
Please don't let me blow my only chance

Hear me world, as I scream my shout
There is so much more that I'm about
I'll carry on with each new endeavor
Proof I was here, now and forever [comments] => 4 [counter] => 186 [topic] => 75 [informant] => dvtpdw [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => anguished )

Dear dvtpdw,
What you seek is virtuous. It might take a long time to be validated, but what is validation? A good job, with good money and you're OK? I say no.
Composure, calmness, these things can be learned. People who take the time to explain to someone who needs their help all know this. Start with you, and those around you. I can tell from the way you write that you're on the right track. There's so much to learn.
I really like this poem because it reminds me of myself when I was young. It's very idealistic, which is a great place to start, as well as end up. Don't self validate, that's to a large degree what's wrong in this world.

Peace!

When it comes down to it, validation is in itself, either a confirmation, or an approval. You want to be sure it's confirmed/celebrated that you exist(/)ed?
If so, look at it this way... For your existence to be recorded and unforgotten, you would have to create, provide, or otherwise persuade humanity/society that you did, something great.
Let's say you do... Leaving all possibilities, probabilities, and even mental conceptions of afterlife aside, when your life is over, you'll cease to occupy the physical the world in conjunction with your ability to perceive the world itself. You become remembered through history, yet have no way to appreciate it, or even know it.
Also with the idea of a social solpsism, like that in "1984", be it that strongly enforced, or through mainstream social interaction and networking, (i.e. these are the best artists, poets, and figures of history because complexity rather than soul or etc.) you could either fade out of mind, or never come to mind.
Optimistic attitude... Those of us that inhabit this world, interact with those around us, communicating, experiencing, and even revelating timeless ideas to one another. When any of us die, those that met us, can say what that person has taught them, shared with them, and otherwise meant to them. When one fades away, those that cared for them, carry on what was important of them. When they too, in turn, fade away, they do the same thing by way of those that honor them. A cycle of life, death, and rememberance, that carries on indefinitely.

However this poem may not be you. This poem may be anybody. This poem may be everybody. The part of each and every one of our subconsciouses. In which case, these words still aren't wasted.

you have certainly made a creative spark here,
as with all of your lovely poetry; do not believe for
a minute you are unappreciated, my friend,

hugs n' love nessa
