Array ( [sid] => 174955 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Forward [time] => 2013-01-30 00:04:24 [hometext] => A poem about the importance of not dwelling on the past and looking to the future. [bodytext] => Seconds melt, eclipsed by days and years.
Time, clichéd, marches to the endless drone of a ticking clock.
As tomorrows become yesterdays, dreams become regrets,
But don't fret, because the sand keeps falling.
The grains never stop; the future keeps calling
And forward is the only way to go.
The past can be poison, poised to cut deep
From head to feet, captivating, cultivating.
But, with eyes on the prize, I spread my wings to fly;
To climb the next step, to reach for the sky.
Although what's done is done, what comes next has yet to come.
I embrace the sunrise, the horizon, the fresh air.
With feet planted firm, I stand and I stare.
For every loss that follows behind me,
I can see nothing ahead but victory. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 231 [topic] => 19 [informant] => Wordsmith123 [notes] => Commenting on your own poem does not ensure others will see your reply. I like how this write puts the past in its place, yet offers to promise of its future. I too seek a way to overcome the past's reach, and I like the path your write takes the reader. Great, great write. Thank you for sharing, P

Welcome to YPDC.
Very good write. We need more of these writes. Forgiveness is hard at times.
Blessings, smiles,
