Everyone waits with great anticipation The culmination of the evening's celebration Eyes fixated as the ball slowly drops Believing tomorrow begins as yesterday stops
When the clock strikes that magical midnight So many believe so ends their daily strife All bad deeds, bad choices are gone Starting this second, there is no wrong
At 12:01, a new year forges ahead Kiss is shared, new resolutions said Shouting and cheering for a blank slate Unaware we aren't in charge of our fate
The question I pose may seem uncouth But in its core lies the absolute truth Days mix and flow on a constant stream Arriving and departing as if in a dream
What we created in the time gone past Remains a part of tomorrow's time blast If you can make a promise of hope today Why couldn't it have been made yesterday

I could not agree more!
I could give an entire speech on the strike of the clock and the keeping of time but alas, I shall perhaps save that for another day.
Perfect flow and rhyme scheme. You're very talented at that.
Thank you,

Very good poem
The second to last day is important too
Why couldn't resolutions be made on that day
If we had decided to put New Years on that day
Would January first be still more important than December 28 |
