it itches so much
an alien form
physical touch,

surrounding me
flesh
prison
encased
adorned

its so hard to remember
my true angelic light form
while trapped in this prison
this solid mass atom
body worn

i shine as bright as this earthly realm allows
yet im the only witness
lost angels not found
the new song not heard
they dont hear a sound

material wealth
is all that they seek
dumbed down by the fall
to the dumb i do preach
i search as do they
not quite there
out of reach

ark of the covenant
holy grail
path
trail
quest.

as mad as alice
and better than the rest
i seek my own wisdom
my own treasure chest

good work. I'd wear clothes when young, throw them off, naked, look, seen my ten year old daughter stare naked into the mirror, she never knew before this body of hers changing shape before. Soon she will understand vanity, and that can be sad. I don't think there's ever a time when one looks into the mirror, clothed or unclothed, without anything else but, pure astonishment, whether it be good or bad. And I'm calling myself old, the youngest of eight kids in my early fifties. In my head, still the dashing athletic baby face kid. Oh, sweet, time,
running naked and beautiful before vanity reared its ugly realism upon thee.

Thank you!

A beautiful unraveling of the human condition.

Best,

from beginning to end, I was purely captivated. I had a mini skit playing in my head, very visual, as I read your poem. Thank you!
