Array ( [sid] => 17455 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => The Love of My Life [time] => 2003-05-12 12:35:00 [hometext] => It's interesting to hear how people meet sometimes, isn't it? Well, this is another poem to my fiancee reminding him of everything, and to let you in on it too. Enjoy! [bodytext] => I have known you since my life first began,
And you were always there for me!
A shoulder for me to cry on, my best-friend,
My fellow trouble maker,
Just another family friend.
And then elementary school faded away,
And we moved on, losing touch with one another
Like all children do with old friends,
And we almost forgot about each other.
But, isn't it strange how life twists,
Just when I needed you,
When I was going through something impossible
There you were again.
And when I couldn't stand for the pain,
You were right there coaching me through it
Being my best-friend once again,
But you were no longer just another
Family friend,
You were mine, and I was falling in love with you.
I can honestly say that I didn't mean for this to happen.
I told myself that I was too young,
And that I could not fall in love with you,
But I did it anyway,
I never did listen to myself.
And now, instead of my partner in crime,
You are the love of my life.
I suppose I am always right.
Oh, have you forgotten,
I told my mother in the fifth grade
That I was going to marry you.
She just laughed and told me that we'd see,
And now, just look as us,
Happy and healthy
And completley in love.
You are my bungling knight,
My best-friend,
My partner in crime,
And, for now, and for forever,
The love of my life. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 982 [topic] => 2 [informant] => ginsdance [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
