falling back into the dismal abyss of the madhouse asylum
which is the foundation of our very existence, taking no
risks, running over the same old fears, never learning anything
better, only wanting to be as comfortable and safe as a baby
in a mother's womb, as dreams and ambitions become only
mundane relief from such a mundane life.

DAMN

getting up, getting down, punch in, punch out, all the while
living your life as an inevitable copy of the day before, so
that in no time flat you can guide your self through the day
blindfolded, totally convinced that everyone and everything
will remain the same, all the while becoming fully aware
that no one is really to blame.

DAMN

needing to find a ladder to crawl out of this trench, breaking the vicious cycle,
repetition no longer acceptable, as you look to live each moment savoring the thrill,
not worried about the risks, no longer satisfied with being safe and comfortable,
ignoring the sleepwalk psychobabble, realizing as you go, every day is different
and it's different every day.

Guess we all feel like this, life can be so monotonous. Well expressed.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
