Can I call you that?
Were you there that day?
The day I came
Or did you walk away,
Just too afraid
Were your thoughts okay?
Was your heart in place?
Because you left that day,
You never came.
Was I too much for you?
Or are you just a fool?
Did you play your part to be in my heart?
Or did you turn your back to make me black?
I look like you that’s what they say
But I’m okay, and that is fine
Because I’m here today
And I play my part.
You in my heart
I wouldn’t say
Because you left me there
And there I stayed.
But that’s okay; you lived you life
But not in my heart
Not in my heart because you didn’t care
So I didn’t see the need for you to be there.
Simple as it seems, I wanted your love
But love you didn’t give
So I didn’t receive
But I didn’t take offense
You didn’t want to be a dad
What more did I need?
Me begging you
Everyday asking
Checking up
Are you okay?
But in return a slap to my face.
The face you made
But the one you hate
Was it me?
What did I say?
Dad can you hear me?
The face you made
How could you say the things you say?
Am I not enough?
Things got too tough
But go! Give up! Leave!
That’s okay, and it’s fine.
The one I call dad wasn’t the dad of mine.

Unfortunately this happens way to often.I raised my three children alone but My kids have been my life.
Just know that you was innocent and it wasn't your fault.
Huggs, blessings,
emy
