A creak on the stair a noise in the Eaves

A tapping sound and rustling of leaves

Scratching noises a pungent smell

A slimy rat a visitor from hell

Sleepless nights fear and stress

Getting worse as the rats infest

Then you find the awful source

Nature starts to take its course

Your sickened by the smell and flies

Yet sorry for the rat that dies

Your house regained fresh and new

Still shaking from what you went through

Never will they enter again

I went through the same experience when I moved into a new flat with my 18 month old baby. They were shinning up and down the drain pipes, thankfully my cat was a great,'ratter.' Great poem and a trip down memory lane for me, such a relief when the problem is dealt with.

You painted a vivid picture of the incident and I felt like I was going through this experience with you which is what makes this such a great reading experience.

Nice work, keep penning!
