how high on the bookshelf
is this a story with an ending or
something else what pages do you
dance from are they lyrics from a song?
did a lonely girl imagine you right out of thin air
to look as innocent as you do with those eyes
and that messy hair
i don't care if you come from inside the pages
thrown together by a mind thats missed out on sleep for ages
he'll do what he wants with you
romance life or death
oh to be a fictional character
and you'll always be the best dressed

what were you his invisible playmates
when he had his ink dry pen sitting in his mouth
choosing the privileges you would
be without
and
of course who would complete your soul
the one who you would fall for
you're cardiac collapse. the end of it all.

and those eyes, that read the words of
someone else
that think the title looks intriguing
gathering dust on a library shelf
the beautiful colours that combine
to make the glitter in your eyes
or the way you stare into the moon
when you're alone at night

oh to be a character; in a story
read by a soul as wounded as me
written by somebody sitting behind
a dishelved nootbook;
whose tired and somewhat displaced mind
confabulates your mind, your soul
your looks
the details in which he creates you
how your pain makes you beautiful
how your ballet shoes blister your heels
and why it is you are the way
you feel.

Dance of this bookshelf darling
I'll imagine you right by my side
A dischelleved beauty, whipped together
by a loose tired mind
I bet in God's name,
The writer wouldn't recognise

How i'd imagine you to be
In my
Mind. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 317 [topic] => 40 [informant] => cherryamber [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => fantasy )

A wonderfully sweet and sad poem about a fictional character and the process of his creation, and how we can, without the least effort, see a fictional character as if he or she were, in fact, absolutely real! a very intriguing poem...
