Falling from the sky, as pure as white could be.
Like stars showering us with their blessings.
The excited chattering that did not stop
Echoing throughout the house, spreading the warmth.
but nothing as great as I felt when the bell on the door
jingled and he walked in.

The greates feeling in the world, his arms
wrapped tightly around me, his lips on mine.
The christmas tree glowed colours brighter than before
Presents engulfed its stem sided by excited children.
Dinner was served, amazing cooking by the mother
It was the best the best christmas without a word of doubt.
I thought nothing could go wrong.

Christmas spirit arose in us, We left for church.
To make our wishes, the atmosphere was happy.
There's no way that I could have known
That soon on that winter walk I desired
the man I loved so much would be shot
in the most unfortunate mix up
I ran to his side.

I place my arms this time around him,
hoping among shock, that it could cause comfort.
The way it had always comforted me.
As I stared into his eyes, my insides seemed to freeze,
Nothing shocked me more than the smile he showed me.
He took my hand and in it he placed
the note of his last words before forever he went.

If I could not feel tears before, I certainly did now
as I opened that note and stared at my name.
Under it was written the words that broke my heart.
Words that I will never forget, never oh cruel fate.
On it was written
"Tonight I wished to spend the rest of my life with you,
Baby, will you marry me?" [comments] => 1 [counter] => 82 [topic] => 8 [informant] => Maygee [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AmericanTragedy )
