Dealing with a heartbreak
sometimes it's hard to do
simply because it's on your mind
no one else is sad but you
well let me say this to you
& the pain that's in your heart
I cannot make it go away
but I can create a start
think of something happy
that wasn't on your mind
it's worth a try if you want
to leave the sadness all behind
most of us have something
we find we're good at doing
Rather it be just acting goofy
or spitting spitballs that you're chewing
well that was a bit much
but what the heck I'm trying
to make a little smile
instead of so much crying
I know this may not help you
to wipe the tears away
but at least you know there is someone
who cares enough to say
heartbreak can devour you
without courage to let it go
if you rearrange that will change
it takes time but it will show
the hot shot poet
