I remember the words from so long ago,
The poetry from my depths
She found so beautiful,
The youth she left in tears

She would never know
The fear that came that night
Know how close to death my heart was lost,
How close my soul came to hell

For I soon learned the cost
For my punishment of loving her
To live with never seeing her again,
To never lose the broken spirit of my youth

And to never forget
I had once known the touch of paradise

One of my pet peeves is when someone tells you they know how you feel or what you're thinking. Anyway, sorry but only you can know what's going on in your head.

I can really relate to this poem. It's nicely written too and I like the term "touch of paradise". Sorta also reminded me of the song title, Almost Paradise. Got that song going through my head now. :P

I am sorry you had to go through this. Wish I had words of wisdom for you but I don't. I've been devastated at least twice from love in my life and it will probably happen again.

Take care,

Tim

Yeah they all play that one.
Great write though. I really like it!
