took a walk on the beach
You presented me with a bouquet of roses
explained that each one represented something
how many beats your heart skipped when you saw me.
I ran up to my room, put them in a case
loving the feeling of being in love.
Soon petals started falling, they wilted on the floor
then i got a phone call, saying you werent interested anymore.
Now the petals are on the floor, the stems in a vase half full.
All thats left are the thorns.
Just like flowers love doesnt last forever
sooner or later all that will be left
are the wilted petals and memories.
The thorns are left to stab you in the heart
and you are left there crying
until someone new brings another bouqet
that you know will eventually wilt.
So enjoy love while it lasts because soon all thats left are thorns
and 100 wilted roses of memories.

its so sad, but true, some love dies out. It is a sad sad thing, but as they say..."It is better to have loved and lost than to never have love at all." Beautiful poem, keep writing!

wow. It can be so hard to write about love, but you do it well. Great poem.
