what are your reasons?
For hopping all around?
I mean look...
There are so many other
wonderful things to do!
Why can't you run,
swim, skip, or play?
Come on, it's worth a try.
What's there to lose?
Why nothing, nothing at all!

The grasshopper solemnly replies:
Why you silly girl..
Any bug like me,
would dream to have these,
so called luxuries.
But you see...
I'm not like you,
and your not like me.
Hopping is apart of me,
and everything I know!
A bug just can't stop,
to try all of these..
things you say.
For we will lose,
more than a lot.
We lose all of ourselves,
our way of life,
and mostly our dignity.
So change you say?
Certainly not.
I prefer to be me,
than you,
any day. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 265 [topic] => 64 [informant] => ShaeBay [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => ambiguous )

Conformist always wish to push or pull others into being like them , believing like them and of course using you to fight for their causes. They despise and imprison and harrass those who refuse to conform because they fear your lack of commitment to them and believe that any unwillingness to align yourself with their cause is a sign that you are out to undermine or overthrow their pursuit for power. Without conformist many things in history could not have occurred one such thing being Nazi Germany. Would a bunch of individualist be so willing to to sell their minds to the idea of wholesale slaughter of another race. I think not. Please keep writing these poems with great messages though lets be aware of the danger that perhaps we are being a tad conformist ourselves in trying to pull others to a life of individuality. Hmmm is that conformist of us. Maybe not... I don't know but an interesting thought. Keep up the good work , truly , Doug

Very good. The grass hopper does as his nature dictates. A goat butts. A sheep strays. A human sins. The nature must be changed for them to do differantly. Ex: "The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they foolishness to him, neither can he know them, for they are spiritually discerned." He must be quickened, spiritually, to understand spiritual things. Ephesians 2:1, Romans 4:17
