my fire fading, my spirit losing its worth.
Sprawling about the ground as if I could not stand,
there would somehow extend to me that which resembled a hand.
My eyes would roam over that which invaded my space,
searching about the darkness for a face for me to place.
But none could be found, I stood there bewildered
as my thoughts raced while my heart was left meandered

Suddenly a loud voice rang out from the deepest of part of me,
calling to arms my will to come set me free
A voice so brave and so bold, it put my fears to bed,
raising my morale 100% and this is what it said.
"Your season of hell is temporary, and for certain it will not last
I really hate to do this but I am going to bring up your past..
For you lived in clouds your whole life, or at least as long as I remember
Dropping from those same heights, your dreams have all dismembered

But they didnt stay that way for very long, those shattered dreams of old
You've picked up and moved on, at least or so I am told
and become even stronger for it, of which you can't deny
Those inescapable traps and immoveable weights, can't keep you from the sky
For a pen put to paper is mighter than a sword turned on flesh
Greater than a boy's turn to violence, and more powerful than a man's choice of death
The lyrics of our life, and the words that describe our flow
Though common to all, is the greatest power one can ever know

Remember these words, what they mean and what they say
for trials and temptations will soon test you of this day
Taxing your kindness and exhausting your hope
Making you feel as if you are at the end of your rope.
Bringing your mind under complete and utter siege
trying its best to keep you on your knees
For in that hour , your strength can you amass
Your season of hell is temporary, and for certain it will not last" [comments] => 1 [counter] => 230 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Shadowman [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
