That I had my eyes wide open and saw all
Child, teen, adult, mother, wife
Little did I know I was behind the eight ball

As a child, I believed in magic, wishes coming true
In real time, childhood contained hurt and pain
The teen in me never knew what I was suppose to do
My days brought scars, tears that flooded like rain

Charged into adulthood, bravely stood strong and tall
I had all the answers, but to the wrong questions
Every corner brought me straight into a brick wall
Life held mysteries with no end, full of deceptions

How do you learn to hear your true path calling
Who has the words that contain your true answers
Is there someone out there who can stop my falling
Do you ever reach the end of your hope's reserve

I knew in my soul and heart that love would be mine
God answered my prayers; my love fell from a star
He caught my eye with a smile that was so fine
My husband has shown me love, taken me so far

I know love's language, can sing every verse
Pushed that old eight ball back into the far pocket
He's stood by my side through the best and worst
He sent the bad away on a love fueled rocket

So many ways to say I love you, forever, always
With all that is within my body, I promise you this
I will love you; cherish you, for all of our days
My hand in yours, our hearts joined, this is my wish [comments] => 1 [counter] => 97 [topic] => 2 [informant] => dvtpdw [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
