[title] => PEACE BE STILL!

[bodytext] => I came home from school one day When I was a little boy. My mother said “Do your homework!” That brought me little joy. I wanted to go play with my friends, But my Mom wouldn’t budge or bend. I blurted out “I hate you and Dad, I want you both to die real bad!” I was sent to bed with no supper. My parents had a date in town. The babysitter woke me up, And on her face she wore a frown. She said, “Your parents were in an accident. Neither one of them survived!” I dropped down to the hard wood floor, And hung my head and cried! For many years I have gone to bed With that heartbreak on my mind, And the very last words to my mother On the day her and daddy died. Last night I dreamed a vision, That seemed as if real to me. My father and mother in Heaven And they were singing a song to me. They sang “We know you always loved us, And we know you always will.” “Stop grieving, you were just a child then, So pleasant dreams son, now peace be still!” [comments] => 2 [counter] => 93 [topic] => 39 [informant] => robert_edgar_burns [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )
