Nothing but memories remain.
All times we walked in bliss
Nothing can ever be the same.
Reaching out for something,
Just memories to hold.
You'd think after love turned bad
We couldn't remember gold.

Oh! but it still hurts
The good times we shared.
Everything got trampled in dirt
Even when we both cared.
Oh but it still hurts
Is my hearts lonely cry.
Got trampled in dirt.
Will it get better bye and bye?

Picking up pieces to go on
Past dreams so easily fading.
Something tore a part our home
No use the truth evading.
No longer your touch to see.
Nothing left but time.
Now we're not a team, you, me.
Just memories left to shine.

First time in print, Lincoln Ledger 10/26/!988.
Second print
World Treasury Of Great poems.
1989 Anthology
Award Of merit certificate 11/15/1988

June 18th 1990, chosen from the past
4 years as eligible for presentation
As silver poet. At the 6th Annual World Of Poetry convention.

I love this poem and particularly these lines. Not my style but certainly my sentiments...
