[bodytext] => I will be checking out soon. I can no longer live in gloom. If you seek me I’ll be gone. So you’d better say “so long.” I’ll be reaching toward the sky, Where I no longer have to cry. If I spread my wings I’ll fly. But first, you know, I have to die. Dying does not cause me fear. Peace at last seems very dear. So don’t look for me here again, As my resistance is wearing thin. I don’t exactly have a plan. But why go on as half a man. Many others will be better off, When I am planted in a six foot plot. I hear a whistle coming from a train, On the afterlife tracks in the pouring rain. I go to where I will hurt no more. Across a gulf on a much brighter shore. As my departure is drawing near, There is one thing I want made clear. No one else here is to ever be blamed. I’m just so tired of my worthless name! -------------------------------------------------- Sentiments of many I came across while working as a Law Enforcement Officer! I was able to help some, but for others it was simply notes left behind.
