Where Are All the Heroes

Where are all the heroes,
the dreamers and the seers?
Where are all the Arthurs?
why are we beset and besieged
with "Lears?"

Ophelia was banished
'cause she wouldn't say
what King Lear
wanted to hear;
In banishing Ophelia
Lear removed the only one
who unpretentiously
held him dear...

Lear embraced his "disease,"
and despised the "cure;"
The story of man
is pretty much the same
as the story of King Lear...

Where are all the heroes,
the dreamers and the seers?
Where are all the Arthurs?
why are we beset and besieged
with "Lears?"

Though Ophelia Loved,
Love just wasn't enough;
wasn't enough
to save her life;
At times
Love can only be expressed,
can only be understood
when there's blood
on a traitor's knife...

As each has been given,
so Nature will demand;
The sacred has been placed
in the heart and soul
of every person's hand...

Where are all the heroes,
the dreamers and the seers?
Where are all the Arthurs?
why are we beset and besieged
with "Lears?"
