Array ( [sid] => 167175 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Persevere [time] => 2011-08-30 03:47:54 [hometext] => **i wrote this as raw as I felt; this is my first poem since being required to write one back in high school for homework, and my first poem ever written on my own will. i'd appreciate your critiques** [bodytext] => Its Autumn and the leaves fall, just as my heart does
Deeper and deeper into this dark abyss I call now
A strong longing and sorrow grows inside me.
I shared my heart once, and maybe my last,
But that is a story that only time can tell

As life moves swiftly around me, I wonder where my path goes
My soul weighed down by worries of tomorrow
Can I make it through the night, can I sleep through the fright
Or must I awake in a puddle of self-loathing and spite

Dried are the springs of my happiness and innocence
Withered has become my interest in my own existence

But before I let you go, I must be sure to let you know
That a small flame of hope still burns inside my soul
If not for me, for those who inside me virtue see

So its now time that i must change my ways,
To live not dark, but brighter days
Having fell behind, but to soon repay
To fall down, and get up without delay
Because glory is not to never fall at all
But getting back up each time we fall [comments] => 1 [counter] => 130 [topic] => 61 [informant] => Joe1987 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )
