nor the cavernous ache that engulfs my heart
I'm wondering how long I can withstand this constant strain
how strong do I have to be.... to endure the challenge of being torn apart

I'd be lying if I said I were completely happy just yet
fueled by remorse for things I cannot change
I only have so much of myself to give without the creeping of regret
unjustly lost all complete control of my world to rearrange

Knowing the moves are right does not lessen any of the guilt
searingly aware that I've lost the last vestiges of my soul
reconciling something of a future before the sands do swiftly tilt
suddenly cast away and run adrift before the storm unfolds

What comes of sacrifices made then deemed so morbidly unworthy
disappear the mind does to that forest of self-loathing
losing ground too fast to recoup any sanity... becomes quite unnerving
returned to the cage of silence, I am left unhinged.... yet owing

The winds of change have wrought such intense, abrupt sorrow
insecure and unsure, wandering ....searching for some semblance of peace
needing nothing more than a haven....a hope for tomorrow
waiting for the skin to erupt into that numbing technicolor release

that was VERY well written, if I may be so bold, and I loved reading it. I hope you write more in the future.

It was both eloquent and expressive. Two very important things in a poem.

Ouch...I feel you for your words & am sorry...Still, this is a wonderful expression of something a lot of people go through at one point or another...although, few so thoroughly explore to understand...Great awareness on your part...

I have to echo previous sentiments.....it was indeed well written.
Made me really sit up and think.
The power of words always amazes me and I think will always.
