[bodytext] => Today I was walking along And spotted a penny on the ground. I walked over to were it lay And wondered at what I had found. I thought about why it was here And tried to find a trace Of who had it before It wound up in this place. Maybe it belonged to a man with black pants With green shoes and a red tie Or maybe it was from a little girl Who was oh, so shy Or perhaps it was stolen by a robber Who dropped it while he quickly ran From a loyal dog who chased him down His poor old wrinkled man. This coin could have come from a crazy old lady Who kept it in her rosy purse Who tripped and fell and lost her money Who was then taken by a nurse It would make more sense if it came from a chubby child Who had his penny in his pocket While wobbling to the store It came out of its lint filled socket I guess I will never know How this penny came to be But I do know where it will go Because now it is going with me.
