I had my vision so blurred,
Even as I gazed ahead
Couldn’t see where it all led:
Long and obscure, the night,
The scarce day, devoid of light.

I have cursed, I have cried
For I had desperately denied
What had longed to be mine,
Thought I’d go along just fine,
Thought I would always be strong;
That I could never be wrong.

I have learnt I can’t forget
That I have reason for regret;
Whoever may well conspire,
Whatever might just transpire,
One heart will never mend
And one guilt, refuse to end.

I won’t laugh, I won’t rejoice
For I keep hearing one voice
Calling me to reverse my track,
Pleading with me to turn back
To claim what lay behind me –
I ignored the call, the plea.

I will grieve, my heart will ache,
My eyes sore, my voice will shake;
If only learning of this pain
Will give reason to live again
To the one with hopes curtailed:
The one I’d miserably failed.

The reason this passage is so effective
is that it's so sincere so real
regret and the struggle to mend,
our wicked way's is so key to why we are here
i could feel the depth of your emotions through this write
struck a place deep within
nicely done
