Array ( [sid] => 163072 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => I Wish [time] => 2010-11-06 14:57:01 [hometext] => A poem about how you can become a stranger to yourself. [bodytext] => I wish I was as pretty
As I once thought I was
He tells me that I'm sexy
But that's what a boyfriend does.
I feel like an ambarrassment
My breakouts and my weight,
If I feel this way about myself
Who would want to be my mate?

I wish I was as happy
As I once thought I was
I'm not the same person anymore
That's what depression does.
I wish I knew how to fix it,
Be the girl he came to love
And just once believe he might think
I was sent to him from up above.

I wish I was as friendly
As I once thought I was
Politely smiling at everyone,
That's what a sweetheart does.
Now people just annoy me
While I force myself to smile,
And being pleasant all the time
No longer is my style.

I wish I was the same girl
That I once thought I was
Maybe then he'd love me again
Like he tries to say he does.
I wish I could go back in time
To be who I used to be,
Because I've turned into a stranger
Desperate to find the old me. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 84 [topic] => 32 [informant] => ColyLynn [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )
