Array ( [sid] => 162092 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => the Battle of my faith [time] => 2010-08-30 21:41:07 [hometext] => I have struggled with my christian faith since I was a little girl, but today I witnessed an alzheimer's patient I take care of chanting the Hail mary and our father prayer perfectly even with her disease she has not forgotten a word. I was amazed [bodytext] => My faith in the lord has come and gone over the years,
days would go by and tragedy would strike and little
by little I lost my religion. It is now that after I lived in
the darkness for so long a little bit of hope has resurfaced
in me as if it was there hideing out from me all along.
I catch my self preying when times are hard, everytime
I pass a church or glance at a cross I start to think about
god and his comfort all over again. Sometimes I wonder
how could he possibly be apart of all the sadness in this
world I still question the bible and my ability to believe.
Than I think about my holy communion, and how exited
I was to drink the blood of christ and finally be allowed
to eat those tasteless wafters on sunday mass. I would
be the first one ready dressed in my best clothes to go
to church because than and there in my life I truly believed.
I didn't wake up one day and decide I was giveing up on
my faith it was a slow and steady occurence. Slowly and
steadily my faith is trying to inch it's way back to me. I liked this one. Never give up on God, he's always there despite whatever happens in our lives.
Take care and keep the faith,
Chris.
