Array ( [sid] => 161602 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Ever Regretful [time] => 2010-08-03 21:04:17 [hometext] => A poem in the form of a letter to a friend. [bodytext] => To my old friend, you were like a brother to me.
I have always considered you family;
In fact, I assumed you had felt the same.
I was always the presumptious one.
Shouting the sky is falling like Chicken Little
When it was only just the rain.
I suppose I was wrong?
The words you said cut me to the quick.
I felt wounded.
In the caverns of my heart,
The fire for our kinship ran cold.
If we meant half as much to eachother,
Then you'd never have ridiculed me---
Unless your pain has made you thoughtless?
Someday, I know you will be sorry;
The spite for my friendship with your ex-flame,
Replaced with nothing but indifference.
Remember, I loved you like a sister---
And perhaps always will.
Signed, Ever Regretful Jacqueline.

There is always a risk with any type of relationship, whether it be friends or lovers. I can understand the pain here and regret. I suppose try and remember the good and don't regret. Also, quite often, when it comes to guys and gals and gals and guys "just being friends", the significant other can be jealous and want to put a stop to it....a forceful stop to it and they force the "friend" to make a choice. It's sad and I've seen it a lot. It's unfortunate but it happens.

I hope things get better for you soon Jackie but it does help to write it out, I hope.

Take care,

Tim

I like the fact that this IS written like a letter, yet so poetically executed.
