Waiting for something to happen;
Hoping for something to happen;
Anything.
I got that something;
Just not a good something.
Guilt and sadness eat away at my heart,
While the incurable eats away at my father.
I did this.
I asked for something to happen,
Something that would change my life,
Forever.
I never specified
Whether I wanted it to be a happy Something,
Or a sad Something.
And sometimes,
When you don't specify,
Fate plays a cruel trick.
The cruel part is watching my father crumble,
Watching my father slowly die.
While Guilt and Sadness kill me,
Cancer kills my father.
I'd like to see Fate survive that unchanged AND unharmed.

Fate and Guilt

I sat there,
Waiting for something to happen;
Hoping for something to happen;
Anything.
I got that something;
Just not a good something.
Guilt and sadness eat away at my heart,
While the incurable eats away at my father.
I did this.
I asked for something to happen,
Something that would change my life,

So sad. But a great poem
