~JoJo, I'll Never Forget~

Not too long ago, I found a friend of mine
he came out to greet me and our hearts became intwined
He was oh so young, and full of life right from the start
and with his simple beauty he quickly won my heart
As the years few by so quickly as often times they will
he rode with me and cried with me, those tears I still can feel
I watched him play his simple games, he chased rabbits through the grass
and often times he'd look so stunned as they turned...cause he couldn't run fast
For such a little fellow built way to close to ground
his heart was big as any Dane, his spirit did abound
And at many times within my life when my heart was at a loss
he gently climbed within my lap and helped me bare the cross
He was there for me so many times I swear this is no lie
and when his final day had come to cross his great divide
I was right there and cried the tears for a freind whose time had come
I cried and touched his still soft fur as the final battle he had won
Looking back not long ago again I still can smile
I still see him in the feild's and playing all the while
And I can see him looking back at me as if to say
"don't worry friend we'll meet again when you come home to stay".
