I poured my orange juice as usual
and when I tasted it,
it tasted just like
a turnip!

I'm an early riser, early shower,
the shower head was
a beautiful pink
tulip.

Vanilla ice cream is my favorite,
I tried to eat it on this very
hot day, but it was a
white rose!

I turned on my fan for some relief,
but where were the airflows?
It was a sunflower and
My how it glows!

I'm in need of a drink so I poured
myself a bloody Mary
the glass was a
flower!

I suddenly felt quite ill as I watched
it change into a purple
feather!

I was in need of a good cold drink
of water from my well,
The windmill was
being turned
by a daisy!

And overhead a helicopter was
dropping paratroopers, and
their parachutes were
White Daisies
floating so
proudly!

I certainly hope my imagination stops soon,
My car is red with a large
sunflower for each
wheel!

I hope someone wakes me up
before the sun goes down,
It's a huge sunflower
with much sunset
appeal!

"Some men see things as they are

and say, "Why?" I dream of things

that never were and say, "Why not?"

~George Bernard Shaw~

(frequently attributed to Robert F. (Bobby) Kennedy,
who used it in a speech. His brother, Edward F. (Teddy)
Kennedy used this quote at RFK's funeral.)

You have this ability of making me smile all throughout your wonderful poems, Consue. Smile!

For some reason I'm in the mood for purple ice cream with yellow flower wheels in it now. Smile!

Hi,

Dreams and wishes, eh Connie?
Well I for one am glad that you have them
otherwise we would all be deprived of your
colourful and somewhat uplifting imagination.

Tommy

I love the imagery in this and the idea of exploring the imaginative mind, its great to have an imagination if somewhat impractical at times, you have combined ideas and imagery to produce another delightful poem that carries the consue warm heart with it x

any time i read your poems i wish i could take a day or two to compose my comment on it.
you truly have a creative mind. i love colours and flowers so much, and your extensive use of these things just caught me by the sleeves. all the lines found a way of flowing into one another thus granting a smooth sail for the reader. the pictures that always accompany your poems, i just wonder. i love it, its beautiful

When imagination runs endless, that is when we know we
are blessed. What a vivid show you've placed here for us. It's
absolutely adorable. :) I especially LOVE the vanilla rose. :P
(and now I am in the mood for a cone). Wonderfully fun, this
was consue. I enjoyed it very much. And I adore the quote
at the end. What a perfectly worded and insightful opinion.
