All the foolish thing‘s you‘d do. And all the things you said.
Let me have amnesia. Forget the bitter past.
Forget the way you looked at me and said that we would last.
How could I have been so dumb. So foolish and naïve?
How could I believe each lie you ever dared to speak?
every time I see you now, I do not see myself.
Your tearing up the girl I was, and now I’m someone else.
Bitter, cold, and dark inside. A monster through and through.
I guess that’s what they call a girl who’s heart was torn in two.
every time I see your face I always turn away.
I can not bear to see the look that comes upon your face.
Pity, I don’t need it no. I need a whole lot more.
I need a way to get you back. To even out the score.
How I wish we never met. We never said hello.
it would have been the only chance to ever let you go.
Tossing in my bed at night. Your voice still lingers clear.
Wish that I could let you go, and say goodbye to tears.
I hope that time will heal this wound, just like the saying goes.
I hope that time is not to far. I’m praying that it’s close.
In this poem I write the words I’m most afraid to speak.
Holding all these thoughts inside is making me feel weak.
One day soon I promise you, I’ll let you know my pain.
You’ll feel it just as strong as me. I promise that you’ll pay. I wrote something a while back, went something like this Would I have said that first hello if I knew there would be a last good by.? Given the same time in one's life and the same circumstances ... we''d all do it again even knowing the pain that could or would come later. We all have great hind sight and woulda', coulda', shoulda' have done things different. I don't think I could ever or would want to say that first hello again but, I've lived much too long, way too many years and looking back I could've missed the pain but , I'd have missed all those dances. Once a guy came up to me in a bar and said ..... he hated me for 30 years because of something I did to him or maybe was over a girl I can't exactly remember. I told him ..."For the last 30 years you were trying to get back at me and for the last 30 years I didn't even know you still existed." Let it go my friend .... ain't worth it.
Anyway, you didn't beat around the bush in your use of the English language ....you said what you had to and you did it artfully ...I'm just glad I'm not the recipient ......lol Write On.....! david
