The darkness of despair and death slowly crawls up my body
It slowly devours me
I’ve been fighting it for so long
For much too long
The darkness keeps on washing over me,
Gaining ground.
I can’t hold on much longer,
I’ve all but given up.

My attention moves from myself to the things around me
This is the first time I’ve noticed the faces
The bright and shining faces
Faces that I know
Do they know?
Do they understand what I’m going through?
How could they if I haven’t told them?
Could the darkness devour them too?
One of the closest faces smile at me

I can’t give up
If I do those beautiful faces may shine no longer
Then the darkness can take them too
I will fight it, I will beat the darkness
I do this not for me
But rather I do it for those faces…

The Darkness

I’m lying down now
The darkness of despair and death slowly crawls up my body
It slowly devours me
I’ve been fighting it for so long
For much too long
The darkness keeps on washing over me,
Gaining ground.
I can’t hold on much longer,

Faces that I know

ahh this is sad. At the end of the dark tunnel the sun will always shine on you.Just as the smiling faces. Hang in there. Great write.

I see those faces all the time
but to me tthey never seem to shine
They mock me and believe that everything is fine
Slowly thier mocking takes a life
Not their's but mine
Great write
