[hometext] => After my father's death, I sat in the graveyard, the weather was overcast and I thought of my father's passing yet at the same time saw a flower bud shoot up from the ground. It gave me hope that in death there is some form of recompense.
[bodytext] => May Day Mother Earth cries her tears of pain She screams for mercy time and again Man, the hunter, with total ignorance Cares not for his inherited abundance No surprise, then, for the torrents of rain It is May and I echo her sentiment My own tears flow and I will not relent Selfishly my pain is not about our Earth But for my father on the anniversary of his birth A powerful life force that is now absent The heavens are open, droplets soon a flood I stare at the garden, spy a daffodil bud Pushing through soil, growing ascendant It strives for the sun upon which it is dependent To generate her natural green blood I marvel at the resilience, the strength of the flower Immediately the torrent reverts to a shower Is it a sign, a mark of respect? For a simple man of emotional neglect? On the rebirth of a parent by heavenly power [comments] => 1 [counter] => 127 [topic] => 14 [informant] => aliopterix [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DreamsandWishes )
